eSIM Technology


eSIM technology will soon be launched by Korek Telecom. The first telecom operator providing eSIM in Iraq.

 

eSIM operates on advanced phones that support eSIM features, and will be identified on subscriber’s phone through QR code scanning of a subscriber’s line, this will activate the eSIM immediately.

 

Korek Telecom launches eSIM in order to provide the highest standards of telecommunication services to all Korek subscribers, and to be among the first telecom operator in providing this technology in the region.

What is eSIM?

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is the latest technology in SIM Card where the SIM comes in the form of an integrated SIM chip that cannot be removed from a device.

 

What are the benefits of using eSIM?

eSIM allows customer to store multiple SIM profiles on a device simultaneously, and switch between them, though only one can be used at a time.

 

For example, you will be able to switch between your personal and business line, without the need of physically swap the card in the device.

 

When eSIM will be available from Korek telecom?

eSIM technology was successfully tested by Korek Telecom and it will be commercially available soon.

 

What kind of handsets support eSIM?

Currently. I phone XR, IPhone XS, Iphone XS Max, Google Pixel 2, Huawei watch and it is expected that more devices will come with eSIM in the coming period.

 

Will all my current services work if I replaced my physical SIM with the eSIM?

Yes, all of your existing services and tariffs will exist on your new eSIM.

 

Can I use the Physical SIM and eSIM at same time?

You can use an eSIM for one number and a physical SIM for another number if your phone supports this feature.

 

Does eSIM work while roaming?

eSIM can be used while roaming abroad, just exactly as normal SIM does.

 

Can I use Apple watch with eSIM?

Currently No, this service will not be supported by Korek telecom.
