What is  3G?

3G refers to the third generation of developments in wireless technology, especially mobile communications. It enhances the data service experience such as multimedia, high-speed mobile broadband, internet access with the ability to view video footage on your mobile handset.

Extra G is the new and unique 3G experience that Korek is bringing to your hand, where you can make video calls, watch live TV, access the high-speed internet, receive emails and download music tracks, as well as the usual voice call and messaging services found on a mobile phone, live streaming, downloadable video of entertainment, news and sport content.

 

 

Do I need to get a new SIM?

No. You do not need to get a new SIM.

 

 

Do I need to get a new number to use 3G?

No. 3G services can be provided on your current number provided and you have a 3G handset.

 

 

On what factors does 3G speed depend?

Speed depends on handset used, coverage, network traffic and a number of users currently using the 3G network at that point of time.

 

 

How do I  know if I'm in 3G coverage?

If you have a 3G phone, you'll see a small symbol on your phone. This symbol is usually a small '3G' sign on the upper left corner of your screen, next to the network signal indicator. Depending on the handset, it can also appear as '3.5G' ,3G , '3G+' or ‘H+’ if you are in areas with 3G coverage.

 

 

Can I  access my e-mail account from my phone using Korek’s internet data services?

You can access your email if your mobile has a built-in browser. If your mobile phone does not have a built-in browser, you can attach your mobile to a laptop or a PC and access your email. If you have smartphone, you can also use any of the email apps available from Google Playstore, Apple App Store, Blackberry World, and Windows.

 

 

What happens when I move from 3G to 2G network?

When a user moves from 3G to 2G network then all the service supported on Korek 3G network like, video calls, high-speed internet access, etc. will not be available, the user will get basic service. If you were on a voice call while moving from 3G to 2G network, the call will continue.

 

What are the different service schemes available?

There are a variety of plans to choose from:

Per Kilobyte: This is suitable if your data usage varies each month and you don’t want to commit to a fixed periodic charge.

Data Packages: This provides a certain amount of data per period (week, month) for a fixed fee. Data offers are suitable if your usage is consistent every period (week, month) and you want to keep down your periodic cost. 7 different Weekly and monthly packages are available.

 

 

Are data charges deducted from my credit balance immediately?

The charges for data subscription and usage are deducted immediately. Per Kilobyte, your account will be deducted based on what is being used.

 

 

Can I use my data service while roaming?

Using Data while roaming depends on the operator you roam with. Check here for the list of operators and services available in each country.

 

 

How to use web browsing?

Web browsing allows you to not only visit websites such as www.korektel.com but also better view images, videos and enjoy clearer audio from your mobile handset or computer.
