Korek Telecom launches eSim technology for the first time in Iraq, transforming mobile network connectivity in the country.

 

eSIMs operate on advanced phones that support eSIM features and will be identified on the subscriber’s phone through a QR code scanning of a subscriber’s line, this will activate the eSIM immediately.

 

Korek Telecom launched eSIM in order to provide the highest standards of telecommunication services, and to provide the best and most up-to-date technologies with global quality standards to its subscribers.

 

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is the latest technology in SIM Cards where the SIM comes in the form of an integrated SIM chip that cannot be removed from a device.

 

What are the benefits of using an eSIM?

eSIMs allows customers to store multiple SIM profiles on a device simultaneously, and switch between them, though only one can be used at a time.

 

For example, you will be able to switch between your personal and business line, without the need of physically swapping the cards in the device.

 

What kind of handsets support eSIM?

Will all my current services work if I replaced my physical SIM with the eSIM?

Yes, all of your existing services and fees will exist on your new eSIM.

 

Can I use a Physical SIM and an eSIM at same time?

You can use an eSIM for one number and a physical SIM for another number if your phone supports this feature.

 

Do eSIMs work while roaming?

eSIMs can be used while roaming abroad, exactly as normal SIMs do.

 

Can I use the Apple Watch with an eSIM?

Yes, you can use an Apple Watch with an eSIM. However, in order to utilize eSIM services on your Apple Watch, you need to have a second cellular plan activated on your iPhone. Once you have set up the second cellular plan on your iPhone, you can then pair it with your Apple Watch, which has GPS + Cellular capabilities.[LA3]
